If you don't fancy the drive north from the south of England,
there are some worthwhile alternatives to consider...
Rail Travel
Fort William has a railway station and it's possible to travel from all
mainline stations around the UK to Fort William - there's also a sleeper
train. Renting a car in Fort William is easy and we
recommend Hawco
Volkswagon.
Air Travel
With the recent developments of inexpensive airline operators, Fort William
is easily accessible from Prestwick, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness Airports.
Some guests recently arrived in Prestwick via RyanAir for
UKP7.00! Most guests are here in time for the pub!
By Road
Woodside is 95 miles north of Glasgow Airport and 225 from Pooley Bridge
in Cumbria, just off the M6 (we can recommend a good B & B to break the
journey). The route north is easy. Just follow the M6, then M74 into
the southern outskirts of Glasgow. Follow the signs for Glasgow
Airport and M8. The M8 goes all the way through Glasgow city centre and out the
other side, heading west for the Clyde. Once past the Airport, lookout
for the Erskine Bridge exit and signs for Loch Lomond and the A82.
